Digital Photo Copy and Restoration....

We can restore paintings, photographs, glass plates, tintypes, old negatives, 35mm to 8x10 film, slides. Between our digital cameras, flat bed scanners, and dedicated slide scanner we are capable of bringing in most transparent or flat art images for digital retouching. Call for questions.

All print restoration projects are done to a digital copy of your original photo. We will copy or scan your original image to create a working digital copy. The restoration is then done on our digital copy. Your photo does not leave our lab and will be returned to you untouched in its original condition.

List of some repairs or modifications we have done:

Hand color a B&W image.

Take out or put in people, objects.

Remove scratches, fold marks, tears.

Remove color to create a B&W image.

Reproduce images stuck to glass panes.

Remove water marks, mold, discoloration.

Restore old faded colors to like new condition.

Replace the background with a new background.

Add a person to a family portrait who was not there.

Combine multiple photos to create a montage image.

Add a color tint, sepia or duotones to the image for effect.

Open eyes, remove braces or fix missing sections of a print.

Bring in your image for a quote. The final restoration will be no more than 15% of our quoted price. Because every restoration is unique, all restoration work must be authorized by you and a 50% down payment must accompany the order to start the restoration and reproduction process. Please do not ask us to quote over the phone because it is impossible to judge the condition of a print when we cannot see the condition. If the damage is beyond a reasonable repair, we will let you know what we can accomplish and how much it would cost. No restoration will be started without your approval.

We adhere to the U.S. Copyright law and will not copy original artwork, portraits or commercial photographs without a signed copyright release from the original artist.

The Process Starts by:

Copying your original using flat bed scanners, table top copy stands, slide scanners or high end digital cameras to create the digital copy to work on. We then clean up the digital copy by brightening, darkening, altering sharpness, and color correcting.

Restoration Costs:

1. All restoration projects start at $21.95 for one scan of your image. The $21.95 charge includes one print unit of your choice from the chart below. This charge covers, handling, copying the image, lighten /darken, correct color, improve contrast, crop, sharpen and permanent storage of your digital file. Size of your original art does not matter.

2. We charge $50 per hour for electronic retouching if it is needed or requested and quote in 5 minute segments with a minimum of 15 minutes. It is impossible to quote over the phone the cost of a restoration job. Each job requires inspection of the print to see the condition and what services will be needed to create a final restored image.

Additional Print Sheets Available for Purchase:

Once your retouched image is completed, extra print sheets made from your retouched image are priced at $12.95 per sheet. Select the appropriate Multi print sheet you will need for the number of images you want. All print sheets will be cut down to their final print sizes for your convenience.
